Enjoy a break in Navarra with Alma, Art and Wine. Our proposal is a two-day getaway to delight all the senses.
We are located in Pamplona, very near the River Arga, in the middle of a green and luminous meadow. You will be transported to the village of Etxauri to visit the Otazu winery, situated in a beautiful landscape sheltered by the rocky promontory of Etxauri, flanked by the Sarbil and Perdón mountain ranges and bordered by the River Arga. Bodega Otazu has recovered a significant part of its history by reinstating the art of winemaking.
During the visit, you will learn more about:
– The history of the winery.
– The contemporary art gallery with works by prestigious international artists such as Alfredo Jaar, Anish Kapoor, Jaume Plensa, Carlos Cruz-Diez and Xavier Mascaró, among others.
– The journey of the grapes from the vineyard through to their transformation into magnificent wines. This includes the preparation area with its fantastic cask cellar (known as the “wine cathedral” and internationally renowned for its architecture), the bottle crypt and the tasting room, where you can appreciate the results of all the hard work.
– Lastly, a wine tasting! The special microclimate and personality of the Bodega Otazu terroir gives its wines extraordinary qualities unique to its vineyards, which fall within the geographical and quality classification of Protected Designation of Origin “Pago de Otazu”. The Denomination of Origin (D.O.) system sets progressively demanding levels of requirements which seek to categorise different degrees of quality. The wines produced in wineries classified as P.D.O. Pago are situated at the top of this scheme, the highest level in terms of quality and consumer guarantees (equivalent to the Grand Cru Classé in France).

We have prepared a table for you at our gastronomic space “La Biblioteca”. Chef Leandro Gil has designed a tasting menu adapted for each season and featuring the best products from our region. Our chef restores Navarran traditions to reinvent them with creative forms based on a deep respect for the local natural bounty: vegetables, wild plants and roots as well as meats and fish.

Vegetables, wild plants and other seemingly humble ingredients from the Navarran tradition are essentials in his kitchen. He reinterprets them to bring out their qualities and give them in a well-deserved place in haute cuisine.
The menu consists of 10 dishes, all of which result from his continuous search for wild ingredients endemic to the region, including rock tea, rose hips and elderberries. Our chef rediscovers them in new forms, making the culinary experience at the Alma an enjoyable, unexpected and innovative journey with dishes that you are bound to love.
