The Alma Barcelona occupies a singular early-twentieth-century building, renovated to integrate classicism with a contemporary feel into a space which flows organically between both styles. In the heart of Barcelona we find an oasis of peace and calm, largely thanks to the Jardín del Alma, the garden restored in keeping with Ildefons Cerdà’s original plan. In 1860 the urban planner had envisaged the interiors of the blocks in the Eixample quarter as green public spaces amidst the buildings.
